If you're in the market for an unusual tourer, the Motorhome and Caravan show at the NEC, 16-21 October, will give you plenty that falls outside the mainstream.

Airstream doesn’t use the ‘C-word’ but it will still exhibit at this annual showcase for the latest caravans. There’s an all-new model, too – the twin-axle 604.

Dethleffs will have updated versions of two models – the 545 DBM, with an island bed and clever centre lounge, and the twin-single-bed 560 V.

Eterniti is unveiling two fantastic new tourers – the Genesis and
the Chronicle. They feature electrically operated slide-out sections, Thermashield construction offering greater rigidity and insulation, and more.

Fifth Wheel Company is making
a similar claim to Eterniti’s. Its new model is the Inos single-axle, yet it still comes with a 4m slide-out section that adds a further 4 sq m of living space.

Hymer is Europe’s largest caravan manufacturer and is upping its UK presence with a series of new dealers. See the UK versions of the Nova Luxus-Line range in its first appearance at the NEC.

Sterckeman might just have the bargain of the show, with special offers across its range. Look out for the Alize 370CE Animation, a lightweight four-berth with fixed rear bunks and a specification list that includes air conditioning.

Vanmaster is launching the seriously upmarket Signature (see page 82 for our Jenko’s exclusive ‘First look’). These hand-crafted tourers boast luxury Italian upholstery and traditional cabinet work. Vanmaster says Signature variants will also be available in all its existing ranges.

And there’s more...

Look out for some fun and funky takes on caravans from the likes of Dub-Box, with its Volkswagen T2-style tourer, teardrop-shaped silver dreams from T@b, and the latest all-GRP Freedom models from Poland. While Hobby will unveil
the latest versions of its super-looking Premium range.

Folding caravans

Could this be a concept that comes of age – again – in these straitened times? Gobur will be showing the latest versions of its solid-sided Slimline, Standard Width and Clubman folders. Meanwhile making its debut is the Artemis D/L, a redesigned version of the model launched a year ago by Pennine Group. The model comes with a fully equipped washroom, wardrobe and stylish kitchen.

Folding campers

The big news here is thorough overhauls to two of Pennine’s most iconic ranges – Pathfinder and Fiesta. Look out also for the latest high-quality offerings from Denmark’s Camp-let and Holtkamper from Holland. You can also see the latest folding campers from French leading brands Raclet and Trigano.
