The Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) and Alan Rogers shared their pick of the standout European campsites at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show last week (13th-18th February).
The winners were announced at a time when many of us will be planning our tours for the new season, be it to one of the best caravan sites in the UK or a campsite abroad. A shortlist was created by CAMC campsite teams and experts from the industry, with feedback from members and customers also factored in.
La Bien Assise in France was the overall winner for Alan Rogers Travel Service, with the campsite offering excellent facilities, as well as walking and cycling trails along the Opal Coast’s cliffs
The CAMC’s overall winner was Séquoia Parc in France, a site set in the grounds of a château in the Chaente-Maritime region. A family caravan park, it offers kids clubs, live music, a pool complex, a free fitness gym and more.
Facilities will always be important for caravanners, and another family-friendly site came out on top of the Exceptional Services and Facilities Award, as La Brasilia in Canet-en-Roussillon claimed the title. The site offers a range of facilities, including a wellness centre, shops, a restaurant and more.
Anyone touring with a four-legged friend will always be on the lookout for the best dog friendly caravan parks. Here, the title went to Le Domaine du Logis in Brittany, with a good selection of walks in the vicinity, as well as a choice of open or wooded grass pitches.
Other winners included Blarney Caravan & Camping Park in Cork, which won the Small / Charming Campsite Award, while Nommerlayen in Luxembourg took the Family Award.
The Most Accessible Award went to La Garangeoire in France, while the Progress & Innovation Award was won by Jungfrau in Switzerland.
The last two categories saw Grubhorf in Austria take the Welcome Award, while Huttopia Group won the Sustainability & Environmental Awareness Award.
These were not the only winners to be announced at the NEC – the Approved Workshop Scheme revealed the winners of its Workshop of the Year awards too.
