For a shade that is probably not the first one that comes to mind when you think of caravans, black seems to be having a moment this season. Bailey is not the only manufacturer to have used it to christen new ranges. Knaus, for example, launched a Südwind Black Edition not so long ago. While within the world of motorhomes there’s currently the Frankia Neo Black Line and the Florium Black Pearl.

This season, Bailey, not content with Unicorn Black Editions, now has the Phoenix Black (such as the Bailey Phoenix Black 640) and Pegasus Black Edition ranges. While Pegasus caravans may have lost the ‘Grande’ in their title – and the GT75 label, as we are now well past Bailey’s 75th birthday – they are still 8ft wide.

The range includes two models that featured at the Practical Caravan Awards 2026, the Bologna, our pick for the best caravan for seasonal pitches, and the Amalfi, a highly commended contender in the best 6 berth caravan category.

But a model has been lost in the new Bailey Pegasus Black Edition: the Ancona – a five-berth which we previously loved, but which has had a range of layouts over the years – hasn’t made it into this generation. Check out our review of the 2024 Bailey Pegasus Grande GT75 Ancona to get an idea of what the tourer looked like.

That means that alongside the twin-axle transverse-island-bed Bologna, there is its single-axle cousin, the Brindisi. A similar pairing with in-line island beds can be found with the twin-axle Messina and single-axle Portofino, seen on our cover. The Amalfi, a six-berth twin-axle with a rear-corner bed next to bunk beds, makes up the five.

Main changes this year are the removal of curtains, replaced with cloth panels. The SONOS speakers introduced last season are retained, but no longer have dedicated resting places. And all kitchens are now L-shaped, to give you more workspace.

On the outside, you get silver side panels with contrasting black plastic grab handles. Fans of caravan solar panels will be pleased to hear that the Pegasus Black Edition models also come with a Truma 130W solar panel.
