Couplands Caravans - Practical Caravan

Based in Louth, Lincolnshire, Couplands Caravans is looking to celebrate its 50th anniversary as a retailer in 2025.

Today, it offers new caravans from Bailey, Coachman and Swift, manufacturers that all feature in our best caravan brand guide. There are special edition variants from Swift under the Bessacarr (six models) brand name. It also stocks a range of preowned tourers from a number of brands.

Recent premises enhancements have included removing old buildings to make more space for a new entrance and customer parking, with further improvements planned over the next couple of years.

As well as this, Couplands Caravans has an accessories shop (also selling awnings) and full service centre facilities operating under trade body the National Caravan Council’s Approved Workshop Scheme and open seven days a week.

At the Owner Satisfaction Awards 2023, Couplands received a Gold Award for the Best new caravan supplying dealers category, with an impressive score of 87.0%.

Nick’s first caravanning memory is his younger brother falling out of the bunk bed above him. That was over half a century ago. Around a decade later, his first driving experience was taking the family campervan across a field on his uncle’s farm. In that time, he’s worked for a wide variety of publications, testing literally thousands of vehicles and visiting almost as many different places throughout the UK, Europe and even beyond. These days, he’s never happier than when he’s out reviewing new/pre-owned/motorhomes/caravans/researching and writing touring articles for Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome. Or, failing that, you may well find him pitching near you in his latest campervan, a Volkswagen California (more often than not with his short, suffering partner, Lin, and crazy sprocker spaniel, Bonnie).
