The gradual demise of the compact 35mm camera means that film canisters might get a little thin on the ground over coming years, which is bad news for fans of geocaching — the tiny containers are ideal for safely stashing booty away in all weathers.
Brian’s Backpacking Blog has come up with a clever alternative though, fashioned from old soft drink bottles.
The DIY resealable container uses the necks from two plastic bottles, sawn off and glued together. The caps then screw back into place to create a small, watertight container.

It seems like a lot of effort for such a simple result, but it does it at least make functional useof empty plastic bottles, the remains of which can still be put into the recycling bin.
