Back of Beyond is a peaceful adults-only campsite set in 30-acres, providing a tranquil and picturesque base for exploring the delights of Dorset.

Taking the title of Regional Winner for Dorset in the 2024 Top 100 Sites Guide, Back of Beyond is a 30-acre adults-only campsite which provides visitors with a tranquil setting for a picturesque and relaxing getaway.

A well-stocked shop and four heated amenities blocks are among the facilities on offer, while guests can hire fire pits from reception. Food vendors visit the site too.

The campsite offers a warm welcome to dogs, with 18 acres of woodland to explore.

Canine companions are also welcome at the onsite Monty’s Bar, which serves a variety of local drinks and seasonal offerings. Live music nights are held here throughout the year, although these finish by 9pm to ensure the tranquillity of the campsite is preserved at a site that was named the best adults only site in the Top 100 Sites Guide 2025.

There will be plenty to see in the area, with Back of Beyond well placed for exploring Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, Southampton, and the beautiful New Forest National Park.

Alternatively, enjoy walking around the Site of Special Scientific Interest which can be found around the wildlife lakes, or have a game on the pitch-and-putt course. Guests with a rod licence can head to the park’s boundary to enjoy a spot of fishing in the Moors River too.

The site is very welcoming, clean and tidy. Monty’s Bar was fantastic and the visiting food trucks were great, saving me having to cook.
