This Colchester-based park, which is a short hop from the town centre and conveniently located for the A12, proved popular with visitors looking to explore this part of Essex.

There is a wide variety of accommodation available for caravanners and campers, with a choice of hardstanding and grass pitches. The park also has a number of leisure lodges for sale.

Seasonal pitches are available. In addition, the site maintains a Gold CaSSOA accredited storage compound for caravans, trailers and motorhomes.

The big draw here, however, is accessibility to the visitor attractions in nearby Colchester, which claims to be Britain’s oldest recorded town. Colchester Castle, the zoo and the arts centre are some of the most popular places.

Further afield you’ll find Beth Chatto’s Plants & Gardens, Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and on the coast, Clacton, Frinton-on-Sea and Mersea Island. It makes a great base for exploring all around, with easy links into the capital by train.

The site itself is spacious, with a large play area for children,, and dogs are welcome. Facilities include three amenity blocks with private cubicles, a disable unit, dishwashing and a launderette.
