It’s no surprise to see Overbrook Caravan Park become Regional Winner for North-East England; this delightful site always proved popular in our Top 100.

A beautiful, peaceful location greets visitors to this adults-only park, which is on the site of a disused railway station in the North York Moors National Park. The campsite has 50 well-drained hardstanding pitches, each with 16A electric hook-up. There’s  a range of amenities, including a heated toilet block, hot showers, launderette, dish-washing area, information point and a lending library.

Four self-catering station house cottages are also available for hire at the park.

There’s an excellent local bus service. However, secure bike storage is available, too. You’re just half an hour away from Whitby and Scarborough, based here, while the nearby village of Thornton-le-Dale is simply exquisite.

Guests are also well placed to explore the many local attractions, which include attractive fishing villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay and Brunswick Bay. There’s also the glorious National Park itself together with National Trust properties, including the historic house at Nunnington Hall.
