There are so many great benefits to The Camping and Caravanning Club membership, but I’ve whittled it down to my Top 10. Read on to discover why joining the Club makes perfect sense!

1 – A great choice of campsites
With Club membership you get access to 97 excellent Club campsites, situated close to many of the UK’s most iconic destinations.

Whether you want to relax on a beach, walk in the hills or explore a new city, there’s a Camping and Caravanning Club Site perfectly located to use as a base.

Every one of these sites is run by dedicated club staff who keep the facilities and the camping fields in pristine condition, so you’re guaranteed a high-quality camping experience, wherever you go in the UK.

2 – 1200 Certificated Sites

Certificated Sites, or CSs, are smaller sites, which accommodate up to five caravans or motorhomes, and 10 tents.

They are affiliated to, and quality-checked by the Club, but not owned or run by it.

CSs are often found in the most tranquil and picturesque locations, where it would be impossible to get planning permission for a full site.

Subsequently, they often deliver the most outstanding views when you open your blinds in the morning, and, more often than not, CS camping means you’re in the very heart of nature.

CS sites are ideal for walkers, cyclists, wildlife lovers, astronomy fans and anyone who’s passionate about the great outdoors!

The level of facilities varies from site to site, but they always offer exceptional value for money, and they’re the perfect option for the enthusiast off-grid caravanner.

3 – Super-friendly and helpful staff

If there’s one thing that really enhances the Club’s camping experiences, it’s the committed and enthusiastic site staff, who are dedicated to ensuring their guests have the very best time.

From welcoming you at the gate with a warm smile, and escorting you to your pitch, to helping to solve any issues you may have with your rig, The Camping and Caravanning Club staff are exceptional in their roles.

Plus, they’ve always got some great ideas about what’s good to do in the local area, ensuring you have the most memorable stay.

4- The healthy option

The Camping and Caravanning Club research and survey (carried out by Liverpool and Sheffield Universities in 2022), proved that an outdoor lifestyle makes participants happier people than non-campers.

As well as feeling the fulfilment created by being closer to nature; caravanners and other campers scored more highly for health and well-being; plus, they feel less stressed and more of them have a sense that they are flourishing – which is a key factor for good mental health.

Caravanners and campers are more active than non-campers, too, and, the good news is, the more often you camp, the better you are likely to feel!

5 – Your base to explore from

The Camping and Caravanning Club Sites give you the perfect basecamp for exploring all regions of the UK.

Want to climb a Munroe? Head to Tarland by Deeside. Perhaps photograph some puffins on Skomer island? Try Haverfordwest – Meadow Rue CS.

Or maybe Avebury Stone Circles are calling you? In that case, the Club’s Devizes campsite is the ideal spot.

Wherever you’re heading, there’s a Camping and Caravanning Club Site or CS not too far away.

6 – Meet new people
Camping and caravanning folk are a friendly bunch, so it’s easy to meet people and make friends on a Club Site.

But, if you want a quiet break all to yourself, that’s fine too!

7 – Pets welcome

In many ways, Club pets are treated even better than their humans! Dogs, in particular, often get their own exercise areas, and many sites have a bowl of water at the ready for any thirsty hound.

“We mainly have dog guests,” says Andy, the manager at Devizes Club Site, “But we’ve had all sorts, including tortoises!”

8 – Value for money

With membership costing from just £48 for an entire year for the whole family, and many sites charging from £10-£12 per person/per night, joining the Club is one of the most savvy financial decisions you can make.

It’s one way to maximise your holiday time every year, leaving you more spending-money to splash on 99s, Cornish pasties and cream teas (or other non-edible holiday treats!).

9 – Benefits galore

As well as cost-effective caravanning breaks, Club membership includes a brilliant monthly magazine full of inspiration and ideas.

Digital memberships (from £48) include a digital magazine, while Print memberships (from £53) deliver a printed magazine and include the Club’s SiteSeeker booklet, which lists all Club Sites and CSs across the network.

Members also benefit from technical and travel advice and support; a wide range of high-quality touring products and services, plus exclusive member events.

10 – Pitch perfect

The Camping and Caravanning Club Sites offer a wide range of pitches, to suit all types of camping.

Choose from a levelled hardstanding pitch or a natural grass one. You can book a hook-up or go off-grid – and save the planet one kilowatt at a time (and a few quid!).

Pick a pitch with a view, or one near friends and family. Alternatively, book a seasonal pitch from April to October (inclusive) or have non-touring friends hire one of the Club’s brilliant Ready Camp safari tents.

Plus, The Camping and Caravanning Club is offering the chance for one lucky winner to enjoy a seven-night Club Site break.
