Bailey is to start dispatching new motorhomes and caravans today for the first time since lockdown started on 24 March.

The Bristol manufacturer has also considerably enhanced its online presence with the launch of two virtual caravan and motorhome showrooms.

The reopening is part of a phased return to work the company is organising across all three of its sites, with new working practices designed to enhance hygiene standards and improve social distancing.

The company says it has launched the virtual showrooms, which include 360-degree views of all its models, because it believes the retail landscape will look very different following the lockdown, with many retailers allowing viewing by appointment only.

But it adds that feedback it has had from its dealer network during the lockdown period suggests that customers are still keen to collect their vehicles and enjoy touring when it is safe to do so.

Other manufacturers who have restarted production this week include the Swift Group, Coachman Caravans and Vantage Motorhomes.
