The Caravan and Motorhome Club has announced the six campsites to be picked as the Certificated Location of the Year winners for 2023.
The Awards celebrate Certificated Locations (CLs) – coming with a maximum of five pitches, these are privately owned and are only open to members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC).
The Best CL in England went to Cholsey Grange in High Wycombe, with pitches that provide views of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The best caravan parks always offer plenty to do in the area, and that’s the case here, with a number of walks to enjoy around the farm, as well as the chance to stretch your legs further afield by visiting dog-friendly pubs and nearby landmarks.
Landis Farm in Dumfries and Galloway was picked as the Best CL in Scotland & Northern Ireland. It’s situated just outside New Abbey, a picturesque village which is famous for the ruins of Sweetheart Abbey. Visitors to the site can enjoy walks to Nith Estuary, Waterloo Monument and Criffel Hill, before heading back to enjoy some tranquility.
The Best CL in Wales went to Terfyn Mawr in Carmarthenshire, a site which sits in countryside and is not far from the market town of Newcastle Emlyn. Another attraction to visit in the area is Cenarth Falls, a stunning natural beauty spot. Abbotts View Alpacas in Aylesbury was the winner of the Most Unique CL award – it’s a working eco farm where alpacas are bred and it’s also home to a variety of animals, such as pygmy goats, ponies and sheep.
The other two categories were for the Best Newcomer, which went to Betley Park, an adults only caravan park in Shropshire, while the CL Sustainability Award went to Brisley Hall Farm in Norfolk.
