The Capsule Mini, a new Turkish caravan, is going on sale for the first time in the UK this month at the Leeds Caravan Centre.
Unlike previous Turkish caravans that have been sold in this country, the Capsule Mini, made by Umarsan Karavan, has a standard width, and runs on an Al-Ko braked chassis with a shock absorber.
The caravan itself is made of a one-piece fibreglass shell, which comes with four different colour schemes. You can have it with a bottom half which is orange, green or grey, or go for an all-white option.
Leeds Caravan Centre, which already sells new Xplore and Bailey caravans, plans to sell the new model, which has an MTPLM of just 750kg, with a price starting at £16,995.
The best small caravans will offer a comfortable space and a good spec. In the case of the Capsule Mini, standard fittings inside include 12V lighting – with switches and sockets all made to British standards – and a 12V compressor fridge with a single gas ring. There is also a shower and a Porta Potti included, and there are USB ports. Water reaches the washroom and kitchen via a Whale water pump.
All the windows come with blinds and flyscreens, and all can be opened except for the window in the door. There is also a door flyscreen.
As standard there is no heating, but both a portable space heater and a water heater are available as options.
Other options include a motor mover, solar panel, a roof light, and a range of awning and canopy options – you can also take a look at our best sun canopy for a caravan round up if you’re thinking of investing in one.
There is also an unupgraded Capsule Mini R range which comes with curtains on the windows, upgraded upholstery, 14-inch wheels as opposed to standard 13-inch, and a wheel trim.
Leeds Caravan Centre manager Ben Gibbons said, “The new caravan is a brilliant little thing. It’s super easy to tow but comes with an Al-Ko chassis. It’s a British caravan right down to the Whale water pump and has deliberately been specced to look British. We know how important that is for our customers.”
