The Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Expo will not be taking place next year, organisers have announced.

The Expo was due to be held at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate in September 2022, but has now been cancelled to allow the industry to “focus on pressing priorities during a time of continuing uncertainty”.

The decision to cancel the show, which is organised by the Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire Caravan Manufacturers’ Association (HERCMA), was made to allow manufacturers to focus on the issues they are currently facing. This includes problems with supply chains, as well as meeting the needs of the growing customer base, with the increasing popularity of staycations leading to unprecedented demand.

Organisers are hopeful that the show will return in 2023.

Richard Jones, the chairman of HERCMA, said: “This is not a decision we have taken lightly, but we feel it is right that manufacturers are able to focus fully on these priority issues during as uncertain a time as we have ever experienced.”

“The industry has seen remarkable growth in response to what we believe is a long-term market shift in favour of the great British staycation. However, this growth comes with its own challenges in the context of the well-publicised stresses and uncertainties affecting the UK economy.”

“We will consider the position of the Caravan, Motorhome and Holiday Home Expo in 2023 as circumstances develop over coming months.”
