Camping and leisure vehicle accessories specialist Dometic was showing a wide range of awnings at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show this week, including poled and air versions, with a residential, multi-season and touring awnings available.
Visitors to the February NEC Show not only get to see the latest tourers from the major manufacturers, but can also browse a range of accessories and gadgets, ideal if you’re after some caravan upgrades.
Dometic is one of the best caravan awning manufacturers, and new for the show was the longer-wearing Residence Air Stay, which has replaced the Residence All Season, which is good for longer stays, anything from two weeks to three months. A full range of sizes is available from size 13 with a width of 570cm up to size 19 with a width of 720cm.
Key features include breathable ripstop polycotton awning walls and a polypropylene dope-dyed roof with hydrophobic properties. It has a single-point inflation and comes with an electric pump and waterproof footprint as standard.

All panels are removable, including the side and front, and the windows have blinds for privacy and UV protection. The window size has been increased this year, making it bright and airy, something which could appeal when looking for the best caravan awning.
Another new model on show was the Stuga Rest (main image), a steel-poled frame awning built for year-round residential use with Weathershield Rest UV-stable fabric, which cleans easily and has hydrophobic properties for lasting durability.
Meanwhile, there were several new touring awnings on show, all featuring Weathershield Tour with UV fade protection and ripstop weave. These included the 3.9m wide Club AIR Tour inflatable static awning and the poled frame Rally 150D static awning.

Visitors to the NEC are also getting to see a caravan costing more than £70,000 from the Fifth Wheel Company. The Inos has an MTPLM of 2800kg and provides a payload of 400kg.
