Go-Pods is not producing any new models for the 2026 season as it looks at the possibility of bringing all production of the micro-tourers to the UK.
For the past decade, the GRP shell of these small caravans and much else has been made in Portugal, but Go-Pods sales and marketing director Taylor Palmer says transport costs have become too prohibitive, especially as the Portugal factory also sources parts from Spain and France.

The caravan manufacturer is now looking to relaunch a UK-manufactured product either at this October’s Motorhome & Caravan Show, for which tickets are already on sale, or in February 2027 at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show.
Taylor said the new products are much more likely to be all-electric with more modern furnishings, as that was the two areas feedback suggested existing customers and would-be customers considered most important.
He said, “We needed a bit of a hiatus from production anyway. We had been doing very well, selling over 100 products a year even before Covid, which is excellent for a niche product. But the product hadn’t really evolved in the past few years.”
Existing customers, who own models such as the 2021 Go-Pod Platinum, will still be able to have their vehicles serviced and spare parts sourced through the Go-Pod dealer network.
In other recent news, Derbyshire County Council has announced it is seeking tenants for a caravan park within the 321-acre Elvaston Castle estate. The campsite, which has been dormant for 14 years, is 4.02 acres.
