Police in North Yorkshire are appealing for witnesses after a gang tried to steal four caravans from one site near Selby last week.

Police say an unknown number of suspects took part in the botched raid on a site at Dam Lane in Willoughby at around 5.45pm on Wednesday 27 May. They then made off in an unknown vehicle.

With thieves targeting tourers, having good caravan security is crucial, with potential deterents including the best caravan hitchlock, wheel clamps, and trackers.

Officers say they are particularly appealing for information from any witnesses who may have seen any suspicious vehicles or people in the area at the time. They would also be interested in any CCTV which might show any suspicious vehicles in Dam Lane.

Anyone with information should contact Alice Gould at North Yorkshire Police or email [email protected]. Or you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
