Aberdeen-based Dyce Caravans is closing down after over half a century of being in business.

The dealer stocks Adria, Bailey and Coachman, which are among the best caravan makes, and is a notable landmark as you fly into Aberdeen Airport. However, it has put a notice on its Facebook page saying that it will be “closing the main trading business and commencing an orderly wind-down of operations over the coming weeks”.

Only the 300-unit storage facility will remain in operation.

The company, which also sells Bailey motorhomes, says the decision has been “incredibly difficult for the family” but has been made following “a combination of retirement considerations, family health circumstances, increasingly challenging market conditions, and rising operating costs”.

It says all confirmed sales orders will be fulfilled, and it will “do our very best” to complete upcoming workshop bookings wherever possibly during the wind-down period.

It also plans to send regular customers a list of useful alternative contacts, including independent workshops and other service providers, to help ongoing servicing issues wherever possible.

It says its ten-strong team will remain available to be contacted throughout the wind-down process.

“We are extremely proud of the relationships we have built and are deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in our family business,” it concludes.

Customers of the storage facility are going to be contacted separately about ongoing arrangements.

In other recent industry news, Bürstner has announced it will stop producing caravans and will instead focus on campervan and motorhome production. The move, which will come in from the start of the 2027 season, is set to remain in effect “until further notice”.
