It’s Amazon Prime Day – the annual opportunity to grab some bargains from the online giant.  I’ve been the editor of Practical Caravan for six years now, and over that time I’ve gathered a handy range of kit – but there’s always something I didn’t know I needed.

Amazon used to solely focus on books, but no longer: there’s pretty much everything you could want here – including great stuff for caravanners.

That’s why, this Prime Day, I’ve pulled together a list of those great-value bits and pieces that will improve your caravanning experience when you’re out on the road. Read on to find out more…

ELEZAY Hanging Packing Cubes

ELEZAY Hanging Packing Cubes was £27.99 now £21.83

Caravans are, by their very nature, somewhat limited in storage space, so it’s crucial to make the most of every inch. That’s why these hanging packing cubes appeal to me: you can simply pack them at home, before taking them straight out to the van and hanging them in your wardrobe. At the end of your trip, just take them back to the house to unpack. Separate sections keep everything tidy, and the dust cover keeps your clothes clean.

LIEKUMM Folding Step Ladder

LIEKUMM Folding Step Ladder was £24.99, now £20.99

This is a clever product, and one that I’m very tempted by. The LIEKUMM folding step features a non-slip surface that’s also a good size, and it can hold up to 150kg. The best thing about it, though, is that it’s foldable – it’s incredibly handy for storing in one of your caravan’s lockers, ready for use when you need to reach that elusive item that’s slipped to the back of one of your cupboards up high. It weighs a sturdy 1.7kg.

Whale Flotilla 4 Pack

Whale Flotilla 4 Pack Microfibre Large Beach Towels was £24.99, now £21.05

Microfibre towels are a great addition to any caravan washroom: they take up less space than their regular cousins, and dry much faster after use, too. I think that these colourful examples in the Prime Day sale look great value at just over £5 each, and they’re a good size, too, at 76 x 152 cm. They’re light in weight, and should pack down small enough to allow you to put them in a backpack, ready for a day trip to the beach.

Proster Pinless Moisture Meter

Proster Pinless Moisture Meter was £31.99 now £25

While an annual professional damp check of your caravan is essential, it always pays to keep an eye on moisture levels in between – which is where this handy meter comes in. Unlike some of its rivals, it’s pinless, meaning you don’t need to worry about leaving marks in your walls when making your checks. The makers claim it detects moisture to a depth of 19mm, and both lights and noise alert you to its presence. It operates via an included 9V battery.

Crespo Camping Chair

Crespo – Camping chair was £107.48, now £86

I need a new camping chair after my previous one met an unfortunate end, and this chair from Crespo looks to be just the ticket. It weighs just under 5kg and looks decently sturdy; most importantly, though, it offers a choice of seven seating positions and has a nice, tall backrest. The grey colour scheme looks smart, and the manufacturers claim that the chair folds down to just 7.5cm deep, meaning it won’t take up much space in your van or tow car. Helpfully, this one is a limited time deal instead of a Prime only deal, so you can claim this one even if you don’t have Prime membership.
