Tune in to the latest episode of our TV show on The Caravan Channel and you’ll be able to take a look around the twin-axle Swift Conqueror 645, with Practical Caravan’s Test Editor Mike Le Caplain. This transverse island bed model has a premium feel from the moment you open the habitation door and step inside, due to the extensive, glossy woodwork and muted colours. It’s airy, too, thanks to the windows, in particular the panoramic roof light over the front windows and a second, opening roof light sunk into the ceiling. There’s also a smart kitchen in the centre of the caravan, featuring a dual fuel cooker, a microwave, a fridge freezer and a ceiling extractor fan, plus there’s an illuminated splashback. All that and we’ve not even talked about that island bed or the full width end washroom – you’ll have to watch our show!

Each of our TV programmes is shown 10 times across a two-week period on The Caravan Channel, at the times listed at the foot of this page. You can watch live online, or on Sky 192 or Freesat 402.

Then David Motton is here reviewing the third generation BMW X5 – what tow car ability does it have? The range starts from just over £42,000, and in our TV show we are testing the four-wheel drive X5 xDrive40d, priced at £55,610, powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine which gives excellent performance. It rides nicely and is very stable too, and even when pushed during our slalom test, the BMW still gripped well. Watch our show for Motty’s full verdict.

Next, we’re looking at touring on a budget, with expert John Wickersham. Used caravans can offer terrific value for money and here John’s looking at a four-berth Avondale Argente 550 from 2005, which is on sale for just £6500. It has an impressive end washroom, bunk beds and a kitchen with a four-burner gas hob, plus the sofas with their sloped backrests are, he discovers, very comfortable. John also shares some top tips. Be sure to tune in to benefit from his wisdom and to see more of this van.

In part two of our latest TV show on The Caravan Channel, Practical Caravan’s Group Editor Alastair Clements hitches up and heads off on tour, taking his family to the Isle of Thanet in Kent, nestled in the south east of England. Famous for its inviting beaches, there’s much more to see and do here. Join him at Margate’s intriguing Shell Grotto, as he visits the Dickens House Museum in Broadstairs and as he indulges his sweet tooth with some ice cream. Watch on Sky 192, Freesat 402 and online, and get inspiration for your own caravan holidays in Kent.

Then John Wickersham returns with more caravanning advice. If you’ve pitched on site and turned on the tap to find there’s no water, what’s the problem? John investigates the possible issues, suggests some solutions and does some troubleshooting. It’s handy, accessible DIY advice for any caravanner.
