Knaus will be unveiling a new caravan range at the NEC Show this October that is designed to save space and weight and be more suitable for electric vehicles.

The Yaseo caravan has a reduced frontal area and a relatively lightweight construction to reduce drag.

But attention has also been paid to reducing the size of the caravan, so that it can be towed by lighter vehicles.

Interior of Knaus Yaseo

The Yaseo 500 DK, for example, one of two models in the range, incorporate Knaus’s FoldXpand technology used in its motorhomes to make the interior at the front larger without increasing the overall length.

At the same time, the rear lounge includes a double wall bed. The front seats can also be slid away under here to create more storage space on the move. A collapsible shower cubicle can be made up by folding out the washroom and removing a seat box to reveal a shower tray underneath.

The washbasin also folds away into the FoldXpand wall. Side flaps in the wall conceal an area that is large enough to store two e-bikes.

As a result, the caravan brand claims the 500DK has a usable area of 11.7sq m, despite only having 10.8sq m of floor space.

The Knaus Yaseo 340PX with a front kitchen, meanwhile, also has a folding bed and an interior length of just 3.48m.

Both caravans are all-electric, which Knaus says saves between 20kg and 30kg, in weight. But a conventional gas heater is an optional extra.

Elsewhere within Knaus, the Südwind and Sport & Fun Black Selection models will be available for 2024 with a Campovolo grey exterior as an optional extra.

Knaus’s budget caravan range Weinsberg, meanwhile, remains unchanged for the 2024 season.
