New NEC exhibitor Leisure Pods is exhibiting the caravan it has developed from the outdoor catering trailers it has been supplying for the past decade.

The Campod caravan is a fully braked trailer, but unusually instead of having a single axle it sits on independent suspension.

This means the floor can be lowered, providing at least 6ft 3in of head room. The front lounge can also be put into three different modes – dining mode, lounging mode (when the seats are less upright) and bed mode.

The ceiling and parts of the walls of the lounge can also be co-ordinated with whatever colour you choose for the outside.

The kitchen includes a two-burner hob, while you also get an electric fan, a 12V space heater and a 120Ah leisure battery. A Porta Potti is supplied in a cupboard at the rear.

The Campod caravan has a gross weight of between 800kg and 1000kg, and because it is narrower than conventional caravans, with wheels on the outside, you shouldn’t need towing mirrors.

Prices start at £23.450 OTR.

Another new exhibitor is Lion Caravans, who is exhibiting its Cub caravan at the October NEC Show.
