The UK version of Adria’s new-look Action caravan – designed, like Swift’s Basecamp, to appeal to those of a more sporty persuasion – made its first appearance at the 2026 Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show at the NEC this February, but as a prototype.

The van, which was joined by models from the new-look Adora range at the NEC, still has a couple of changes to be made before it will appear on dealer forecourts later this year – when its layout will have been switched so the door is on the ‘correct’ side for the UK. So how does it shape up, and should it be under consideration for those looking for the best 2 berth caravan?

Pitch and set-up

The new Action will be available in two different formats: Action, and (for £1500 more) Action Sports, which includes a more rugged exterior with a spare wheel on the A-frame in place of a locker. Here we look at the Action, but the outside of the production version could be slightly different from what you see in these pictures.

UK versions will have silver sides rather than white, with a blue, rather than grey, undercarriage.

Insulation has been improved on earlier models so that, for example, the extruded polystyrene core in the floor is now 38mm thick. There’s a new LED silhouette along the top corner, too, while the external locker door gives you access to an area that is lit and extends uninterrupted right under the front settee inside. Alloy wheels add a touch of class, as does the new light cluster on the curvy back panel.

But the overall caravan layout could divide opinion, especially for those who are looking for the types of caravan which are suited for sporty activities, due to having a door at the side, rather than the rear of the caravan (as you get with Swift’s Basecamp).

Lounge in the Adria Action 391LH

The front lounge has a U-shaped settee as standard. You still get the little shelf at the front for snacks that is a characteristic of all Adria caravans, only this time it is a clip-on shelf, rather than a fold down, so you would need to find somewhere to store it.

The table is also a pedestal table, not a foldaway, and there’s no storage slot for it. That’s not necessarily a problem, though, because you can swing it out of the way to get past. It easily seats four, and in the lounge there is room for more than five to sit.

Lounge seating is comfortable for five people and includes a clip-on snack shelf which is a feature on all Adria vans

Two front windows let in plenty of light (not to mention air). There is also ambient light all around the lounge, and two spotlights on each side on a sliding rail.

There is also a rather cleverly concealed pair of speakers in the panel between the two windows at the front, which are connected to the discreet Bluetooth player under the lockers. A subwoofer under the settee gives you a bit more bass.

The settees can be pulled up in each corner, to make two daybeds. From here you could easily watch the best caravan TV that you might install on the bracket above the sideboard.

Kitchen in the Adria Action 391LH

Not having a door at the rear does mean you get a good-size kitchen across the back; it has a two-burner gas-only hob and a decent sink with a stylish tap.

UK models will come with a combined oven/grill, and beyond the wardrobe, there is a two-way fridge, which seems worthwhile here. The coffee machine in our pictures is an optional extra. It did get a little in the way of the two sockets behind it.

The kitchen unit and the extension
Sink is a good size, and it has a stylish tap, too

There is some workspace between the hob and sink, but the sideboard includes a seriously long pull-out extension.

Beds in the Adria Action 391LH

You make the double bed up by pulling the central slats out and placing the larger backrest cushions on top of them – you have to be careful to get the right ones to ensure a good fit. The table swings out of the way and makes a perfect spot for breakfast in bed.

Washroom in the Adria Action 391LH

The corner washroom includes a swinging partition – something you usually only see in motorhomes these days. This gives you a good-sized shower cubicle on one side with reasonably good headroom but only one drainage hole, and, on the other side, a small basin, the toilet and a clear window.

The partition is held in place with a popper and a magnet.

Storage in the Adria Action 391LH

When it comes to the caravan storage options, we did find it’s not easy to reach the area under the settees from the inside. The base cushions are both one-piece, to make the daybed more comfy, so lifting the slats can be tricky. That is possibly why Adria has made this area easy to reach from the outside, while the section furthest from the locker door holds the onboard water tank and heater.

The drawers in the kitchen
Storage in the kitchen is good, including this trio of spacious drawers

In the lounge you get two overhead lockers that stretch all the way to the front, even if the doors themselves do not go that far.

The locker above the loo
There’s a good-sized locker above the loo, plus shelves and two hanging hooks

The wardrobe is adequate for a van this size, with a shelf at the top and a hanging space beneath. There are two good shelves in the sideboard, too.

Alternatives to consider

You could take a look at the Swift Conqueror 390, another two-berth with an end kitchen and one that manages, despite a small size, to pack a lot in.

Or you could consider the Bailey Phoenix Black 640 if you’d like more space in your tourer. It comes to 7.35m long and has a redesigned washroom along with velour window panels.
