Verdict
The clashing patterns on the walls might divide opinion – a shame, as this comfortable, well-appointed caravan brings a welcome two-berth layout into the Acadia range.
Pros
- Wide dressing room at rear
- Spacious lounge
Cons
-
Possibly too much pattern on the walls
-
Slightly redundant cupboard in the washroom
For 2025, Coachman is extending its Acadia range with the end-washroom, two-berth Coachman Acadia 460. The line-up itself gets a freshen-up on the inside, along with some furniture re-engineering to reduce overall weight.
Does it make a compelling proposition for couples looking for the best 2 berth caravans on offer for the 2025 season? I went to take a look at the new model at the brand’s 2025 season launch this summer.
Pitch and set-up
The first difference I noticed when seeing the new Acadias are the 3D graphics on the outside. Last year’s dark red and grey decals have given way to a cooler blue tone, although the silver sides remain.
You still get those Coachman touches, such as the external barbecue point and mains socket in the front nearside corner. The step-on A-frame will be ideal for owners of the best caravan bike rack, as it means you could mount one here, with less effect on towing. I liked how this meant the twin gas bottle lockers should still be at least partially accessible in that case. There is also an external door to the underseat locker on the nearside.
Lounge in the Coachman Acadia 460
I found the 460 provides enough room to make the entrance comfortably homely, with a lit mirror to the right as you come in, and a double cupboard ideal for shoes.
Turn left and ahead is an elegant lounge with new superior foam construction which I found very supportive – you even get a bolster at both ends of each parallel settee. Good lighting is always going to be a key trait, no matter the types of caravan you’re looking at, and here, a large panoramic sunroof lets in loads of daylight, as do the Heki and the big side windows.

Ambient light and LED downlighters under the lockers keep things bright at night, and you get USBs in the spotlights. I thought the pull-out shelf in the central chest would be the perfect place for snacks, while a sturdy foldaway table can be retrieved from its own slot in the washroom if necessary. For the first time, Acadias get Bluetooth speakers.
I noticed a change in the locker design – the heavily curved doors have gone, replaced by flat doors in a Titan design. They are handleless, relying on push catches, but I thought they seemed solid.
Sockets for the TV are above the work surface on the nearside sideboard. From here, both of you should be able to watch the set from the comfort of those settees, although if you don’t have one yet, it’s worth checking do you need a special TV for a caravan before buying one.
Kitchen in the Coachman Acadia 460
The trend for black accents in the interior décor continues in the kitchen, where a chrome-and-black tap graces the flush-fit stainless-steel sink. But you’re just as likely to spot the ‘Tuscan Geo’ geometric pattern on the splashback around the large window. It’s a strong pattern on its own, contrasting starkly with the marble-effect worktops.

The marbling continues on the sideboard opposite, housing the 91-litre fridge freezer, but this time you are spared any pattern on the wall at the back below the flatbed microwave. The four-burner hob is dual fuel, and you get a separate oven and grill. Lighting is provided by LED downlighters, as well as the window and ambient light.
Washroom in the Coachman Acadia 460
The Tuscan Geo continues in the washroom, contrasting with a worktop rather like crazy paving, a white salad-bowl-style basin and a matte-black tap. This caught the eye of quite a few dealers at the launch, although such maximalism possibly isn’t for everyone.

Still, I found it to be a spacious, well-lit washroom with enough room for dressing. The shower cubicle is a good size, while on the offside, the circular toilet stands by an opaque window, with more Tuscan Geo on the wall, and a ladder radiator.
Sleeping in the Coachman Acadia 460
Beds that are easy to make up are a key trait of the best caravans for couples. With this layout, the two settees in the lounge would easily be long enough for most people to use as single beds, although they also join together very easily to provide a large double if preferred, with the new upholstery offering firm support.

A feature I like is how the bolster cushions can double up as useful pillows for reading at night.
Storage in the Coachman Acadia 460
The nearside underseat area at the front is clear and easily accessible from both inside and out, ideal for storing any luxury caravan accessories you can’t tour without. You can lift the slats, too, although you do have to remove the base cushions to do so. The offside area houses the Alde heater and the fuse box, but the rest of it is clear.
I found the new overhead lockers offer a bit more space than before. There are two on each side in the lounge, and two smaller ones in each front corner.
Over the kitchen are two double cupboards, and below, a large cupboard with a cutlery drawer and a shelf, and a narrower cupboard to the left with three shelves. There’s a pan locker under the oven.
The sideboard includes a double-shelf cupboard by the fridge, and an open double shelf next to the microwave up top.
The washroom has a hanging wardrobe in the far corner, with two large shelves below, and a narrower hanging wardrobe above the table storage.
Alternatives to consider
Another option from the same brand is the 2024 Coachman VIP 460, a tourer with a solid build and one that provides a spacious feeling for the two of you on tour. For those who are interested in a more compact two-berth, the Capsule R Mini could be an intriguing proposition, one that is light in weight and well-designed.
