Verdict
The wall patterns will not be to everyone’s taste, and you could say the same about the new lockers. But otherwise this is a good upgrade. Coachman’s attention to reducing weight has allowed it to make this popular layout wider. That has to be a good thing.
Pros
- Comfortable, airy lounge
- Spacious interior design
Cons
-
Shower door tends to knock into the basin
Coachman updated its Acadia range at the start of this season, mainly with a view to reducing weight. At the time, I reviewed the all-new Coachman Acadia 460. But that wasn’t the only new van in the range – it was also joined by the Coachman Acadia 675 Xtra.
The Coachman Acadia 675 Xtra is an 8ft-wide twin-axle version of the best-selling 575, with an end washroom and a transverse island bed, and was our pick for the best four berth caravan at the Practical Caravan Awards 2025. I went to take a look to see how it shapes up.
Pitch and set-up
With caravan ATC fitted as standard, I don’t think the Coachman Acadia 675 Xtra shouldn’t be a tricky tow. Thanks to the weight saving, its MTPLM is relatively low for a twin-axle.
I thought the twin gas bottle lockers up front were easy to access, and there’s an external hatch for the large underbed area. You also get an external barbecue point and mains socket.
Lounge in the Coachman Acadia 675 Xtra
Unusually for a caravan with an L-shaped lounge, the 675 Xtra doesn’t have a large blank wall for a TV. So you have two big side windows, which, with the wide sunroof and the three front windows, allow light to flood in. There is a set of TV sockets in the cupboard under the window by the door though, so owners of the best caravan TV will still be able to enjoy watching their favourite shows.

The folding table easily accommodates four, and I liked that it stows neatly too. A narrow sill houses a socket at the offside end and a USB and USB-C port on the nearside.
Kitchen in the Coachman Acadia 675 Xtra
A good kitchen can be an important trait in the best caravans, and here, the huge worktop has a mains socket right where you need it. The extension butts into the lounge, but you should still be able to seat four people in there comfortably.

I thought the kitchen was well lit, with two Hekis in addition to the window. As a £285 option, one of the Hekis can be turned into an Omnivent. There is a striplight under the locker. You also get a separate oven and grill, a flatbed microwave and across the aisle, a 137-litre Thetford caravan fridge freezer.
Washroom in the Coachman Acadia 675 Xtra
Thanks to the 8ft width of this van, there is plenty of space to reach the end washroom, even with the island bed rolled out.
The big talking point at the Coachman season launch was the crazy-paving style laminate in the kitchen and the washroom. Coachman calls it Tuscan Geo – some 10 or so months on, I found myself warming to the design.

In the washroom, it adds interest in what would otherwise be a plain room, and looks fetching in the half-light of an evening.
That aside, the shower on the nearside has wonderful headroom, with a deep tray. But I do wonder why Coachman still opts for a single-pane door, rather than the concertina variety. It does tend to knock into the rectangular saladbowl-style basin when you open it. The latter sits in front of a large mirror with sunken lights.
Beds in the Coachman Acadia 675 Xtra
Given that Acadia is Coachman’s cheapest range (although such terms are relative), it is great to see you still get a sizeable dresser in the front offside corner of the bedroom, even if the mirror doesn’t have its own light. There’s a second set of TV sockets here, so that mains socket could power a hairdryer.
The bed itself is comfortable, with a huge headboard, and a space to put down a cup of tea between the cupboards on each side. Spotlights are embedded under the lockers above, as well as a USB and USB-C port.

I reckon y would probably need to turn over the bases on the front settee to make the bed, once you have pulled out the platform, because there is a bit of a knee roll.
Storage in the Coachman Acadia 675 Xtra
L-shaped settees in lounges are notorious for not having accessible storage spaces underneath. Fortunately, I found I could lift the front part of the settee, including the bed platform, without having to remove the base cushions, and the area underneath is completely clear. There is an access flap to the space under the side of the settee as well, although this area is more cluttered.
Besides this, up front there are three overhead lockers – two on the offside and a large one on the nearside. Lockers have been changed this year so now they are flat and, sadly, handleless. There is a shelf over the front windows, a cubbyhole in the sill and a small cupboard below.
The unit to the right of the door as you come in holds the table, with more space there on a shelf, and a locker above.
In the rear bedroom, with the area under the bed and limited space in the dresser, you have three overhead lockers, one of which is shelved, and two wardrobes.
The kitchen houses a tall cupboard that’s shelved at the back. The double cupboard next to this only has one drawer, with some shelving underneath behind the gas taps.
You also have a double cupboard above with crockery racks, and a single one to the right of this with shelving.
The rear washroom has a large cupboard underneath the basin and a huge amount of shelving above the toilet.
Alternatives to consider
The Adria Alpina Colorado was shortlisted at the Practical Caravan Awards 2025, with its comfortable lounge and excellent spec impressing. Another option to think about is the Bailey Alicanto Grande Deluxe Alvor – the four-berth tourer is a comfortable and family-friendly option which we reckon would be ideal for a seasonal pitch.
