The 2014-2015 Beautiful South Awards for Excellence have been announced in a ceremony at the Grand Hotel in Brighton

The awards ceremony for the Tourism South East Beautiful South Awards for Excellence was held on 4 December at the Grand Hotel, Brighton.

The awards included accolades for Holiday Park of the Year, Visitor Attraction of the Year and Taste of the South East, to name but a few. Some of these recommendations could help when planning your next tour of the South East.

This year's winner of the Holiday Park/Holiday Village of the Year Gold Award for 2014-2015 was Crowhurst Park, in East Sussex, which unfortunately doesn't yet offer touring facilities.

However, both of the Silver Award joint winners for Holiday Park/Holiday Village of the Year offer both self-catering and touring facilities. The first of them is Two Hoots Campsite near Winchester. Two Hoots offers both touring pitches and self-catering lodges.

Caz and Dave, owners of the business, said of the awards: "It really is a rewarding experience, we appreciate the recognition for our efforts. It shows our customers and our local community that we are dedicated to striving for excellence, which in turn means more visitors and customers for local businesses."

Two Hoots Campsite also scooped Bronze in the Self Catering Holiday Provider of the Year and Highly Commended in the Sustainable Tourism Award of the Year categories.

The other joint winner of the Silver Award for Holiday Park/Holiday Village of the Year was Shorefield Country Park, in Milford on Sea. Shorefield also offers both self-catering and touring facilities, with four different locations to choose from: Merley Court Holiday Park, Lytton Lawn Touring Park, Forest Edge Holiday Park and Swanage Coastal Park.

The Bronze Award for Holiday Park/Holiday Village of the Year went to Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park on the Isle of Wight.

The Beautiful South Awards also look at great events across the South and South East, and this year the Hampshire Food Festival scooped the Gold Award for Tourism Event of the Year 2014-2015. This organisation showcases the region's best food and drink, with many events throughout the year.

Also recognised with joint Silver Awards for Tourism Event of the Year were Wallingford Food Festival and Rise of the Dinosaurs at Marwell Zoo. The Bronze Award for Tourism Event of the Year went to West Dean Gardens Chilli Fiesta.

The best of South England's attractions were also been recognised. The prestigious Gold Award for Large Attraction of the Year 2014-2015 went to the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth, with joint Silver going to Turner Contemporary in Margate and Marwell Zoo, near Winchester, and Bronze going to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.

Owl and Monkey Haven on the Isle of Wight scooped the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year Gold Award. Silver went to WWT Arundel Trust Wetland Centre, in West Sussex, while Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum in Swanwick scooped Bronze.

If you're looking for some recommendations for great places to eat while touring the South East, there's an award for that, too. The Gold Award for Tourism Pub of the Year went to The Pointer in Brill, Buckinghamshire, which also has a restaurant as well as the butcher on site where you can pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner to cook back in the van!

A Tourism Pub of the Year Silver Award went to The Farm @ Friday Street in Eastbourne and joint Bronze went to The Old Vine, Winchester and The Old Drum, Petersfield.

The Flavour of the South East Award winners will also tempt you, with Gold going to The Montagu Arms Hotel in the New Forest, Silver to The Pointer in Brill, Buckinghamshire and Bronze to Lainston House in Winchester.

Established more than 20 years ago, The Beautiful South Awards reward excellence, quality, innovation and customer service to keep businesses striving towards better experiences for the customer.

Recipients of these accolades will now champion the South East at the national VisitEngland awards in 2015.
