Sprite is a name that’s been around for almost 80 years, providing families with affordable caravans. Under the Swift banner from 1995, the brand has been one of the company’s best sellers, offering a decent spec and light weight. Good used models always sell quickly.
Sprites offer decent storage and a good selection of layouts including some excellent family models for those who liked twin axle caravans.
By the 2015 model year, some worthwhile caravan upgrades also boosted sales. New features included a change to the wood grain and adding Duvalay mattresses for extra comfort. A Diamond pack, introduced a few years earlier, included a microwave, AKS hitch, alloys and so on, and soon became standard kit.
Other items included a new one-piece door, chrome handles and adjustable LED spotlights, plus the then-new Truma Combi heater. The 2015 Sprites had the latest Pure construction, removing wood in the walls, and they could be an appealing prospect for those after the best used caravan.
Model history
There were eight caravan layouts for 2015, including one new layout: the model we are looking at here. The Major 4 SB was launched offering couples a lightweight, affordable van with a transverse fixed bed and full-width end washroom.
It had a spacious layout for two, but could sleep up to four people. The Major 4 SB offered lots of storage and a roomy front lounge area, and the fixed bed with spacious end washroom helped it become a firm favourite.

The Major 4SB would become a good seller for the Sprite range, with extra appeal as dealer specials. Specials had added spec, often including upgraded soft furnishings.

These days, this tourer offers a good option for those wanting light weight and great value. Unsuprisingly, the 2015 Sprite Major 4 SB has become a popular choice for those who are looking at buying a used caravan.

The Sprite Major 4 SB represents a great used buy. It’s light and comes with a spec that will make touring life comfortable. The front lounge is spacious, and on our example the seating and mattress were still nice and firm.
Refer to our list of checks (above) if you are going to look at one, especially if it’s a private sale. Looked after, a Sprite Major 4 SB should last many years.
