A survey of 1,000 Brits has revealed caravan holidays are considered to be the most cost-effective way to travel during the summer months, beating Airbnb in the process.

Many of us will be looking ahead to our summer getaways and planning where to head to, but current economic uncertainty has left Brits looking for a more budget-friendly way of enjoying a holiday.

The survey, which was carried out by Ropers Leisure, asked Brits what the cheapest and most convenient way to travel this summer would be, prompting 39% to opt for caravanning holidays. 34% picked outdoor camping, while 27% went for Airbnb.

Commenting on the results of the survey, James Roper of Ropers Leisure, said: “A caravan is an excellent way to travel on a budget. Travelling with your own caravan or simply spending a nice break away inside a caravan is an affordable way to save money on hotel fees and restaurant costs.”
