The Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) and Alan Rogers have announced their picks for the leading European campsites at the recent Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show.
As we enter March, many of us will be thinking about which of the best caravan sites to head to, whether it’s a campsite in the UK, or you’re heading to the Continent.
The results were compiled after both the CAMC and the Alan Rogers campsite teams created a shortlist in conjunction with other experts in the industry, also factoring in feedback received from both members and customers over the past year.
There were 11 categories in total this year, with the Caravan and Motorhome Club Overall Winner going to Grubhof in Austria (see main image). Providing spacious pitches and beautiful views, the site is ideal for enjoying both winter sports and activities such as hiking and cycling, as well as more relaxing summer getaways
The winner of the Alan Rogers Travel Service Award was given to Azur Camping, a group of five campsites in southern Germany, which include spots near Wertheim and Ingolstadt.
The Caravaning Oyambre took the Exceptional Services and Facilities Award, with the Spanish site offering plenty of facilities, including both indoor and outdoor pools, a restaurant and a shop. Off-site, there will be to keep everyone occupied, with the Picos de Europa mountains, walking trails and a beach all in the vicinity.

The Most Attractive Campsite went to French campsite Le Capeyrou, a site which sits at the foot of Beynac Castle by the Dordogne river. A restaurant and pool are among the on-site facilities, while there is also the option of walking into Beynac.
Those who are touring with pets and are looking for a dog friendly caravan site could be interested in the winner of the Dog-Friendly Award, which went to Camping La Garangeoire – sitting in a 200-acre park, the site has plenty to keep everyone entertained, including an equestrian centre, a heated pool complex and a restaurant.
The Family Award was given to Camping Koningshof in The Netherlands, a site which offers excellent facilities for everyone, including both indoor and outdoor pools, a skate area, a sports field, and an animation programme for children. It also sits in Rijnsburg, where stunning flowers can be seen.
Other winners included La Yole, which received the Sustainability and Environmental Awareness Award, while Le Château de l’Epervière in France took the Most Accessible Award. The Small / Charming Campsite Award was won by La Grappe Fleurie in France, while the Progress & Innovation Award was given to River Valley Caravan Park in County Wicklow. The final winner was Le Moulin du Bel Air, a French family-owned site which is built around an 18th century mill and has views of the Lot river, with the campsite taking the Welcome Award.
The February NEC Show also saw the results of the Owner Satisfaction Awards 2025 announced, offering a valuable insight into the leading manufacturers, dealers, base vehicles and converters.
