The Caravan Club has announced a link-up with motorway service area  provider Roadchef to improve the quality of stops for caravanners.

The Club makes every effort to alert operators to caravanner’s feedback regarding the problems encountered when taking the regular rest breaks as recommended by the Highways Agency. The formal arrangement between the two companies enables Roadchef to plan more effectively for the needs of caravanners and this feedback will be taken into account during improvement works.

Frequently, rest areas are poorly signposted, dirty and have very poor provision for access from caravan parking areas to the toilets and shops. Security is a major problem too, meaning caravanners are scared to leave their caravans unattended. These are all problems that can hopefully be addressed as part of the new agreement.

Facility improvements ultimately benefit all caravanners, but Caravan Club members benefit from a 20% discount in the Costa, Wimpy, Burger Company, Hot Food Co or Restbite concessions they’ll find there. To claim the discount, members simply present a voucher, which can be downloaded from The Club website, with their membership card at the till.

“We’re pleased that the concerns of members have been taken on board by Roadchef,” explained Tony Lewis, Membership Marketing Manager at The Caravan Club.  “It’s important to take a proper break when you’re on a long journey and we want to make sure wherever possible that Club members can do so in comfort and safety, so they return to the road refreshed and replenished!”

“Caravan Club members are key users of our services and the relationship between our two organisations can only work for their benefit,” commented Simon Turl, Chief Executive, Roadchef.  “I look forward to seeing even more positive changes for them at our locations as part of our parking area improvements.”
