Verdict
While competitors come with levelling systems and air conditioning, the Elegance 845 is still a top-notch caravan, and those extras will be on the options list. You do get that Alde underfloor heating, though.
Pros
- Spacious
- Excellently equipped
- Superb washroom
- Well planned
Cons
- Slightly compromised lounge length
- Needs a hefty tow car
Swift’s Elegance Grande range sits at the top of its caravan portfolio. For 2026, the four-van line-up (all twin-axle) has seen some small design tweaks.
I took a look at the Elegance Grande 845, with the ever-popular end washroom and transverse fixed bed layout, to see what I made of this luxurious caravan.
Pitch and set-up
The 845 is 2.45m (8ft) wide and getting on for 8m long, and has an MTPLM of 2102kg, so when you’re looking for the best tow car for the for 860, you are going to need a fairly substantial vehicle.
Experience I’ve had of towing large Swift caravans in the past shows that they do tow extremely well, but for additional peace of mind, ATC and an Al-Ko stabiliser have been fitted as standard.
The Elegance is a handsome caravan, and a totally GRP-skinned body should keep it looking that way for a long time to come. All service points are easy to access on the offside and are lit by a service light, which is placed towards the rear.
Lounge in the 2026 Swift Elegance Grande 845
As is usually the case with this layout, the length of the parallel lounge seats is slightly compromised. However, there’s still plenty of room for four people to sit comfortably here, and because I would expect most of these tourers to be used as caravans for couples, space is not likely to be at a premium.
The new sprung seats are trimmed in Samara (oatmeal) Aquaclean fabric and have six contrasting scatter cushions.

The front chest and wide shelf provide somewhere to keep small items, such as glasses and cups. I like how the lounge is very bright and airy, thanks to windows all around, a panoramic sunroof (with a surround that holds built-in lighting and speakers) and a midi-Heki rooflight, all helped by the attractive woodwork.
Night-time illumination is excellent, too, with ambient lighting and four corner reading lights.
Fitted as standard are 4G Wi-Fi, so getting internet in a caravan will be easier. Also included is a wireless charging pad, and several USBs (including USB-C) and mains sockets. You also get Alde underfloor heating for added luxury. The wall-mounted TV point is located just inside the entrance door.
Kitchen in the 2026 Swift Elegance Grande 845
The offside L-shaped kitchen has a folding extension, which adds to the work surface, and two mains sockets are placed where they’ll be needed. New for 2026 is the splashback with storage pockets and a utensil hanging rail.

There’s a mini-Heki rooflight in place of the usual Omnivent, but this is because there’s a Dometic integrated extractor fan. Reaching the plateless microwave might be a stretch for some. But I found there was lots of storage, and all of the drawers are soft close.

The 177-litre Dometic caravan fridge is on the nearside, next to the storage for the main table. As you would expect, a full Thetford dual-fuel hob is also provided here.
Washroom in the 2026 Swift Elegance Grande 845
The first thing that strikes you on entering the washroom is the lack of a window. But with the light woodwork, a mini-Heki and an Omnivent, it’s still bright and airy.

The washroom is contemporary in style, but hugely practical. The 2026 season sees new side surfaces, basin and splashback with extra lighting. An Alde ladder radiator keeps it all cosy, while plentiful storage and additions such as a shaver socket show that a lot of thought has gone into the design.
Beds in the 2026 Swift Elegance Grande 845
The Duvalay-mattressed transverse island bed has been slightly widened for 2026, but the bedroom still feels spacious. Each occupant gets a handy set of drawers with a broad top at the side of the bed, which has an opening panel giving access to a shallow shelf underneath. There’s a reading light each, and low-level lighting for those night-time washroom visits.

You get a TV point above the window at the foot of the bed, and roof-mounted radio speakers to each side of that.
The lounge settees are too short to be used by adults as single beds, but they do convert into a decent-sized double.
Storage in the 2026 Swift Elegance Grande 845
There are two substantial wardrobes in the bedroom to go with the drawers and three overhead lockers. The void under the island bed is totally unobstructed. For 2026, Swift has introduced much wider external access hatches to the underbed storage.

The lounge has two overhead lockers on either side, with two more drawers in the front chest. The nearside seat base is clear (and has external access), but the offside one houses the Alde 3030 Plus boiler (for continuous hot water) and the battery box.
The washroom has plentiful cupboards and shelving. In the kitchen, there are three deep drawers, a cutlery drawer, a pull-out unit and pan cupboard, and a large locker overhead. You also get more lockers above and below the fridge.
Alternatives to consider
The 2025 Coachman Lusso III was our pick of the luxurious tourers at the Practical Caravan Awards 2025. It provides plenty of stylish décor and a layout that works well, as well as a very impressive spec.
Alternatively, you could consider the 2025 Bailey Alicanto Grande Deluxe Alvor, a comfortable and family-friendly tourer which as a comfortable lounge and provides plenty of storage.
