Swift has dropped its innovative Basecamp range from its 2027 caravan line-up, while two family-oriented models are reintroduced to its more conventional ranges.
The compact vans, which was aimed at more sporty caravanners, was first launched in 2016 as a two-berth. Over the years four-, six- and three-berth models have been added, although in its final season the range was back as a single two-berth model only, a van which we named a highly commended contender for our best small caravan category at the Practical Caravan Awards 2026.
The company insists Basecamp has not been a poor seller, but rather the extra complications involved in its production made less commercial sense in a contracting market.
Meanwhile, having cut the Sprite range back to just four models in 2026, Swift has added back the Sprite Quattro FB Grande this season. The tourer, which could appeal to those who are on the lookout for the best 6 berth caravan, is a twin axle which comes with a second middle dinette and a rear corner bed next to a corner washroom. Sprite models also now come with window in the door and a bin, while an AKS3004 stabiliser is fitted as standard.
Similarly, the 565 model – a four-berth with fixed single beds in front of a washroom at the rear – has been added back to the Conqueror range following customer demand.
The Conqueror range, which only returned to the Swift line-up last season, will feature seven models for 2027 – three with a conventional width, like the 565, and four 8ft-wide Grande models.
Changes across the range include a new fabric scheme, deeper pile carpets, a premium Duvalay Alto mattress, and wall pockets for mobile phones by the beds. All L-shaped front lounges now get a nearside window and a pop-up 32-inch TV unit, while the L-shaped settee itself now has an aluminium frame for extra strength.
The top-notch Elegance range continues as four models for 2027 – all eight-foot wide four-berths with twin axles.
This season they have borrowed a front panel from Conqueror, and, as with that range, the two models with L-shaped lounges now come with a nearside window, a pop-up 32-inch TV and an aluminium frame to the settee.
There’s a new washroom design, and wall panels have been updated too.
The Challenger range also continues into 2027 with the same ten models – six conventional width models, and four eight-foot wide models. Across the range as a whole, there’s a new grey fabric scheme as standard. External lockers door have been increased in size, and seat backrests on all four Grande models have been increased in height so you now longer need an infill cushion to create the front double bed.
Overall, Swift saw retail sales of tourers grow by 22% last season. It now claims to hold a 46% share of the UK market, and says the much documented fall in tourer sales in recent years has flattened out and may even have started to reverse in some areas.
Another brand to recently share its 2027 season plans is Coachman. The brand, which is turning 40 this year, is updating both its Acadia and VIP ranges for the new year.
