Well done to Eye Kettleby Lakes, not only our Regional Winner for the Heart of England, but also the site that was picked out as the best caravan park in the UK for 2023!

Pitches at the park are split into two areas. The northern section comes with a luxury cabin-style facilities block with individual bathrooms, while the southern site provides private bathrooms in stone buildings and is set by the 4.5 acre specimen carp lake.

The site also provides a warm-water dog-shower, a laundrette, a bar and a shop. Guests wanting to explore the surrounding area can hire bikes too.

Eye Kettleby Lakes is a great caravan site with fishing, offering nine coarse lakes – this includes two specimen carp lakes, six mixed coarse lakes and a private lake for lodge members only.

From the park, guests will be well placed for exploring Melton Mowbray, Leicester and Nottingham. There are also plenty of walks to enjoy at the site itself, as it’s set in 150 acres of picturesque countryside.

Greendale Farm is a peaceful, adults-only site, located in the heart of rural Rutland. The park has won a Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award, and has bird feeders – tree sparrows and greater spotted woodpeckers are just two of the birds you may see.

In summer, the small heated swimming pool is open, while other amenities include a shop and a heated facilities block. Nearby Rutland Water is a great spot for nature lovers to explore, with watersports and fly fishing on offer. Melton Mowbray is only six miles away, while Whissendine village is a short stroll.

The site is well placed for trips to Chester and Beeston Castle, and there are a number of routes for cyclists to explore in the surrounding area, too.

Adults-only New Lodge Farm is located in a tranquil setting in Northamptonshire. Nestling in forest greenery, the site has converted old stone barns into a shop, restaurant, reception, and heated shower and toilet block. New Lodge also has its own swim spa, with a resistance swim and hydrotherapy pool. For canine guests, there’s a 1.5-acre dog-walk to enjoy. Another member of the Morris Leisure group, Poston Mill lies close to the Welsh border in west Herefordshire. Facilities include a centrally heated toilet and shower block, laundry, a children’s play area, and a motorhome service point.

The campsite also has a shop and a restaurant, along with a 10-acre dog-walking field and a dog-wash. Leisure activities include pitch and putt. Hay Castle and Snodhill Castle are two of the many local attractions, and visitors fancying a break from driving can also catch a bus from the park’s entrance to Hereford and Hay-on-Wye.

Onsite amenities provide a heated shower block, disabled facilities, a launderette, library and motorhome service point. The site is perfect for visiting the NEC, home of twice-yearly motorhome and caravan shows.

Guests will be able to enjoy a meal at The Farm Kitchen Restaurant & Café, while an onsite shop and a children’s play area are also provided. Other facilities include a pool, which is open during the summer, a laundry room, and a dog-walk and dog-wash.

Elsewhere, you’ll be able to take to the water or walk along the riverbank and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Thames. For 2023, the site has been refurbishing its facility blocks. Situated in a beautiful orchard on the banks of the River Teme, Westbrook Park is a peaceful touring destination. Guests can enjoy a luxurious heated facilities building, while the pet-friendly site provides a dog-walk and exercise area.

The children’s playground is also being upgraded. A number of footpaths run alongside the site, so visitors can explore the surrounding area, and fishing is permitted on a stretch of the river. The market towns of Tenbury Wells and Ludlow are just a few miles away, and there’s a pub within a couple of miles, too.
