Taking your caravan on tour to France is simple and with a new budget ferry crossing from Brittany Ferries, it can be cheap too. In fact, it’s as easy as A, B, C. Here are some of our favourite French destinations.
A is for Audierne
Practical Caravan’s Claudia Dowell and Bryony Symes recently visited the pretty town of Audierne. With beautiful beaches, it’s the perfect place to catch some rays or why not explore the town? On Saturdays, there is a busy farmer’s market to pick up some fresh picnic ingredients.
B is for Bayeux
Famed for the tapestry, you can’t head here without going to see it. But there’s also a beautiful botanical garden and it’s free to visit. Go there out of season to avoid the crowds. There’s a municipal campsite so you’ll save yourself a few Euros, too.
C is for Cannes
Want to rub shoulders with the rich and famous without paying a hefty price? Head to Cannes with your caravan in September to see the yachts at the Yachting Festival. And despite what you might think, there are plenty of cheap cafes if you venture off the beaten track.
And that’s just the start! How about the Dordogne, Évreux or Fréjus, just to continue the alphabetical theme? Or Marseille, Nantes or Occoches, or Quimper, Reims or Sarlat for that matter? Being the biggest country in Western Europe and the European Union, France has lots to offer no matter how many times you’ve been. So if you head there for your caravan holiday this year, we hope you have a great time.
