As the editor of Practical Caravan, I love caravans of every shape and size. But while I’ve been busy over the past few days looking for great Amazon Prime Day deals, I couldn’t help but notice how many great products popped up for everyone who owns a tow car.

After all, you won’t get very far on your caravan tours if you don’t look after your tow car – and you’ll be spending a lot of time in it on your journeys, so it’s important to make it a nice place to spend time.

So, with that in mind, I’ve been busy making a note of all of the Prime Day deals that can help you do just that.

AA 12V Digital Tyre Inflator
Image: Amazon

AA 12V Digital Tyre Inflator was £26.97 now £22.89

No matter how your tow car is, it always makes sense to carry a tyre inflator at all times – particularly if you’re towing. This neat 12V unit from the AA features a 3m power cable and a 52cm air hose, so it should easily reach each of your car’s tyres. Importantly, it’ll pump tyres up to a maximum of 120psi (8.3 BAR), and it weighs less than a kilogram, too. Adaptors are available, so you can also use it to inflate air beds, bicycle tyres and more.

CarPlan Demon Shot Screenwash Booster
Image: Amazon

CarPlan Demon Shot Screenwash Booster was £5 now £4.25

A clear windscreen is crucial for safety reasons, and a good screenwash will really help remove residue quickly and easily, even during the harshest of weather conditions. I’ve been tempted by this 500ml bottle of Demon Shot by CarPlan: it’s super concentrated and will make up into a whopping 25 litres of regular strength wash. Using one small bottle rather than lots of big bottles helps reduce plastic use, too, and it’s suitable for winter conditions. Reviewers have commented positively on the cherry fragrance, too.

Dog car seat cover

Dog Car Seat Cover was £20.99 now £16.79

If you take your dog with you on your caravanning tours, you’ll know how important it is to protect your tow car from dirt and hair when you’re on the road. I own a golden retriever who loves the mud, so I’m planning to buy one of these seat covers on Prime Day: it’s a universal fit and straps over the front and rear headrests to secure it safely. The non-slip surface will keep your seats clean and scratch-free, and there are seat-belt openings to allow you to safely secure your pet.

FiNeWaY Universal Car Boot Organiser
Image: Amazon

FiNeWaY Universal Car Boot Organiser was £7.93 now £6.74

This little product is such a clever idea – it’s a fabric organiser that fits tidily into your tow car’s boot, keeping loose items such as tools, bottles or cloths safe and secure.

Made of a grey carpet material, it features Velcro-style strips on the back, to allow you to attach it securely to the walls of your boot. The flip-top cover means that you can easily access your items, and the carry handle on the top makes transporting the bag easy.

Stoplock Pro Elite Car Steering Wheel Lock
Image: Amazon

Stoplock Pro Elite Car Steering Wheel Lock was £50.10, now £42.39

I’ve got one of these Stoplock steering wheel locks, so I can vouch for its sturdiness – it feels reassuringly weighty at 2.6kg. You should double check before purchasing that it will fit your vehicle, but it is suitable for a large number of models. It comes with an anti-drill lock and a pair of keys, as well as a 10-year guarantee and a storage bag. The bright yellow body should help act as a visual deterrent when your car is parked up, too.

AA Car Headlamp Headlight Beam Converters
Image: Amazon

AA Car Headlamp Headlight Beam Converters was £8.79, now £4.99

If you’re planning to drive on the Continent, you’ll need headlight beam adaptors. As with the steering wheel lock above, I can vouch for this product, having used them on numerous trips aboard. They affix quickly and easily to your headlamps – a fitting guide is included in the pack – and are relatively easy to remove on your return. Buy them now to keep in your glovebox, and you won’t need to stock up at the ferry port, where they’re likely to be more expensive.

2 Pack Car Key Signal Blocker Pouch
Image: Amazon

2 Pack Car Key Signal Blocker Pouch was £10.99 now £6.79

Keyless car entry is a great thing, but it does leave your car vulnerable to theft if thieves manage to relay their signal. One easy way of helping prevent this is to keep your keys in a faraday pouch, which effectively blocks the signal – and these little pouches look like a great deal on Prime Day. At 14cm x 9cm they should be suitable for most sizes of fob, and with two in the pack you’ll be able to protect a pair of keys.
