We always love hearing from our readers and finding out about what they get up to, so when we read about Colin Rimmer’s fundraising Caravan Challenge, we simply had to share it with you all.

Caravanning brings joy to many, as Colin sums up well: “it has generated so many happy memories for me, family holidays and meetups with friends”.

However, we are not all lucky enough to keep these memories forever, with dementia robbing us of these moments.

Now, in memory of his Aunt Barbara – who died in 2020 – and his friend Ellen – who is currently in her 60s and is suffering with dementia – Colin has devised a Caravan Challenge to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

He will be pulling a full 40 litre Aquaroll (40KG) 10 miles from Norton Water Tower in Runcorn, Cheshire to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

Colin will be starting the challenge on Saturday 11th September at 10am. If you would like to make a donation or find out more, visit Colin’s Just Giving page.
