It’s really important that you keep your caravan’s payload in mind whenever you’re putting a piece of kitchen kit into your tourer – it’s very easy to overload your tourer. Each gadget and gizmo that you stash in your lockers should be carefully considered, to make sure you’re taking no more than you need; not only will you save weight, you’ll also save money by not buying accessories that are likely to prove redundant.

Black Friday is one of the best times of year to stock up on gadgets – there are masses of discounts available, on all manner of bits and pieces that can be used in a caravan kitchen. I’ve been scouring the websites of some of the biggest names in retail over the past couple of days, to find some of the best kitchen bargains out there – here you’ll find my handy round-up. Don’t miss my favourite Black Friday deals I’ve spotted for caravanners either.

Tower T17025 Vortx Compact Air Fryer
Image: Amazon

Tower T17025 Vortx Compact Air Fryer was £44.99 now £32.19 (save 28%)

I love an air fryer, and not just at home – their compact dimensions and low power requirements means that they’re ideal for caravanning. Not only that, but they also mean that you can use electric power to cook when you’re on hook-up, saving your gas supplies and therefore money.

Tower is a popular air fryer brand, so I was pleased to find this compact model available at a tasty 28% discount this Black Friday. Bake, roast, fry and grill modes all feature, and there’s a 30-minute timer, too. The basket itself offers a 1.5-litre capacity.

UHAPEER 58Pcs Camping Dinner Set
Image: Amazon

58-piece Camping Dinner Set was £27.99 now £21.75 (save 22%)

I really love the colours of this camping dinner set – it’s bright and cheery, and guaranteed to look great in any caravan kitchen. When you want to set out on a picnic, simply pack them up in a bag (they’re unbreakable), and you’re ready to go.

There’s a set here for up to five people: each person gets their own bowl, pair of plates and utensil set in its own dedicated box, and the whole lot comes in a neat drawstring bag. The set is freezer safe, microwave safe and – for when you return home – dishwasher safe, too.

Aigostar 2-Slice Toaster
Image: Amazon

Aigostar 2-Slice Toaster was £25.99 now £16.99

Toasting bread in a regular caravan grill can be a bit hit and miss – leave it a split second too long and you’ll find yourself with charred remains rather than a tasty piece of toast. So why not invest in a dedicated toaster to get the job done perfectly every time?

You’ll need a low-wattage one, to prevent your electric hook-up supply being tripped, and this 750W model that I came across on Amazon looks ideal. It has seven browning settings, and a number of other functions including defrost and reheat, and there’s a cancel button, too.

Aigostar 650W Travel Kettle
Image: Amazon

Aigostar 650W Travel Kettle was £20.99 was £13.99

For most of us, a kettle is a must carry – which is fine until your gas runs out. Save your supplies by taking a low-wattage electric kettle on tour with you instead, such as this travel 650W model, currently on sale during Black Friday on Amazon.

It’s not huge, at 0.6 litres in capacity, but that should be enough for a couple of hot drinks. Boiling takes about three minutes, and there’s a two-year warranty on the product, too, for additional peace of mind.

 Chopping Board Set of 3
Image: Amazon

Chopping board set was £16.99 now £12.98

It’s very easy to simply hang onto old chopping boards, but for safety’s sake it’s good to replace them reasonably frequently. I found this smart set on my browse through Amazon’s Black Friday deals, and I’m tempted to add them to my basket and my caravanning kit.

Three sizes are included in the set, and all are made of an attractive grey speckled plastic. At almost a centimetre deep they should feel sturdy, and there’s a grooved lip around the outside of each to prevent any juices or liquid spilling off the edge. The rubber handle on each should help prevent them from sliding around on your tourer’s work surfaces, too.

Silicone trivet set
Image: Amazon

Silicone trivet set was £14.99 now £9.47

Silicone cookware is brilliant for use in a caravan thanks to its lightweight properties, so I’m seriously tempted by this set of two trivets that I discovered were on sale this Black Friday. They promise to withstand temperatures up to 230C, so are ideal for using on your worksurface to prevent damage from hot pans, and they can also be used as protection for your fingers when handling cookware. You could also use them as an impromptu drying surface after washing up; simply wipe them clean when you’re done.

Sink cupboard organiser
Image: Amazon

Cupboard organiser was £29.99 now £25.40

We’ve all been there – arrived on site after a long tow, only to open a kitchen cupboard door and for everything to tumble out at your feet. These clever kitchen organisers can help with that, though – they allow you to stack your provisions and cleaning products neatly and within easy reach, and prevent everything from moving around when you’re on the road. With their overall dimensions at 17 x 31 x 25.4 cm they should fit many caravan cupboards, but do check before purchasing.

Oven liners
Image: Amazon

Oven liners was £9.99 now £6.63

Keeping the base of your caravan’s oven will be a lot easier with these clever liners – and they’re great value for a pack of two. If they’re too big simply cut them to size, then slot them onto the floor (under the heating element) to do their stuff. If you happen to spill anything on them, you can simply remove them, wipe them clean and then replace.

The liners can withstand a temperature of up to 260C, and feature a heat-resistant coating.

Silicone tongs
Image: Amazon

Silicone tongs was £11.98 now £9.58

I love these silicone tongs – not only are they light in weight, they’re also shorter than you’ll usually find, meaning they’re easy to store in your caravan’s cutlery drawer. They’re well priced this Black Friday, working out at less than £3.20 per unit, they’re made with stainless steel for added longevity, and the silicone ends won’t scratch non-stick cookware. I’m particularly keen on the pastel colours of this set, but if they don’t appeal, you’ll find more muted colours at the same price.
