Us caravanners will all be aware of the benefit that a bit of extra power can have when we’re on tour. This is where having access to a portable power station comes in – these are products that are capable of transforming your experience, letting numerous devices be charged simultaneously and providing flexibility to your experience. They can also be particularly handy if you’re heading off-grid. Amazon Prime Day (10th-11th October) can be a great chance to find some bargains and I’ve spotted some brilliant savings to be had so far.

Here, I’m sharing my pick of the best Prime Day portable power stations I’ve seen – and there should be an option for every budget. It even includes a product that was shortlisted for the best caravan gadget category at last week’s Practical Caravan Awards 2024, the Bluetti EB3A, which can currently be bought with a 27% saving.

Bluetti EB3A

Bluetti EB3A – £299 now £219

I was part of the judging panel at the recent Practical Caravan Awards 2024, and I was really impressed by the EB3A. Simplicity and ease of use are two things I rate highly, and this certainly delivers – to use, just plug in your gadget and you can then see the rate it’s charging at. You can even download an app to adjust the current and voltage output.

I also like the selection of ports you get, including a USB-C and a 220-240V AC/600W port (see the full list below). The inclusion of a wireless charging pad is another welcome addition.

If you’re after a portable power station that is up to the task of charging lower-powered objects such as a phone or laptop, I’d say the EB3A is a great – and reasonably priced – choice.

  • Weight: 4.6kg
  • Capacity: 268wh
  • Ports: 1 x 12V socket, 2x12V DC sockets, 2 x USB-A ports, 1 x USB-C port, 1 x AC socket
Jackery Explorer 240

Jackery Explorer 240 £259.99 now £155.99

Currently available for only £155.99 (a huge 40% saving), the Explorer 240 is a budget-friendly option for caravanners to consider. I’m impressed by its weight – coming in at only 3kg, it’s over 1.5kg lighter than the Bluetti EB3A, making it a particularly attractive option if you have payload concerns.

I’d say this is more of an entry-level product, with less ports provided here, in comparison to the Bluetti – there’s no USB-C port, for instance. However, if you’re looking for a portable power station that’s light in weight and won’t take up too much space, this bargain Jackery could be the one for you.

  • Weight: 3kg
  • Capacity: 240Wh
  • Ports: 1 x AC socket, 2 x USB-A ports, 1 x DC port

Anker 535

Anker 535 – £599.99, now £369

One thing I should point out straight away with the Anker 535 is it’s over three times the weight of the above Jackery, coming in at 9.7kg. However, if that’s not a problem, you get a portable power station that comes with seven ports, including a USB-C port and two AC sockets. The latter are able to power devices of less than 500W, although it’s worth bearing in mind that they’re not suitable for products with an input of over 200W.

I also really like how it’s able to restore 80% of a gadget’s charge within 2.5 hours, while the inclusion of a light bar is incredibly useful, as it lets the device act as a light as dusk draws in.

It’s currently available with a 38% discount, bringing the price down to £369, more than a £200 saving – however, it can only be delivered to England, Scotland and Wales.

  • Weight: 9.7kg
  • Capacity: 512wh
  • Ports: 2 x AC sockets, 3 x USB-A ports, 1 x USB-C ports, 1 x car outlet

EcoFlow DELTA 2
Image: Amazon

EcoFlow DELTA 2 – £1,099, now £699

A 12kg weight may make some caravanners wince but I think there’s a lot to commend the DELTA 2 for. First up, there’s the impressive selection of 13 sockets it comes with, including two USB-C sockets and four AC sockets. Then there’s its 1800W output, making it an ideal device for off-gridders to consider.

It comes with a 1kWh capacity, but this can even be enhanced with additional batteries, allowing you to reach 3kWh. Then there’s the £400 saving you can enjoy over Prime Day, bringing the price down to only £699.

If you tour as a family, simply like having your gadgets with you, or want to have the flexibility of having ports, the DELTA 2 is well worth considering – especially with a 36% discount!

  • Weight: 12kg
  • Capacity: 1024Wh
  • Ports: 4 x AC sockets; 2 x USB-A fast charge sockets; 2 x USB-A sockets; 2 x USB-C sockets; 2 x DC sockets
