Coachman is one of the top brands for buyers looking for solidly built luxury caravans with plenty of spec to match.
The Laser was launched in 1999 and soon became a range many caravanners aspired to. Never produced in big numbers and only offering a few select caravan layouts, the range has still sold steadily over the years.
If you’re thinking of buying a used caravan, the Coachman Laser can be a great choice, especially for seasonal pitches. Although they offer spacious interiors in family-size tourers, they have also proved very popular with couples wanting excellent storage and plenty of room to relax in.
Of course, to tow a caravan of this size, you are going to need a big SUV for towing or similar.

The 2017 Coachman Laser 675 was the biggest in a three-model line-up and this was the first year that the model was produced.
Model history
The Lasers were pretty much an instant hit when they were launched, rapidly becoming popular with buyers wanting a twin-axle caravan from Coachman based on the successful VIP range. The 675 was added to the Laser line-up for the 2017 model year.
It joined the 620, which had a side single dinette, front lounge and superb end washroom, and the 650, with an island bed.

The 675, which was produced until 2023, provided a big front lounge, side kitchen, transverse bed and end washroom.
The quality soft furnishings were upgraded for 2017, while other luxury features included an on-board fresh-water tank, solar panel, BBQ and external mains socket, and a large fridge and separate freezer. You also got a tracker system, for added peace of mind.

Up front there was a large gas bottle locker and a huge sunroof. In the well-appointed kitchen, you got a full oven and a microwave. Alde heating was provided throughout.
Upgrades to the Laser for the 2017 season included new graphics and an Al-Ko wheel jack. The 675 aimed to appeal to buyers who liked winter caravanning, or as a seasonal pitch. The one we saw looked like a lot of tourer for the cash.
Price checker
Shopping around, we found that £21,995 was pretty much the going rate, although our example was on for less.
The 675 seems to be a very popular used buy and we also found there were few models from 2017 on the forecourts. While you are searching, always keep an eye out for any valuable added extras, too. For the rest of the range, expect to pay:
- 620/4 – £17,950-£18,295
- 650/4 – £17,995-£21,295
What to check for in a used Coachman Laser 675
- Fridge operating as it should – there have been problems with a few circuit boards
- Issues with 12V electrics
- Signs of water ingress
- Wall tape coming away

- Good support in mattress on fixed-bed models
- Scuffs on alloys and tyres
- Sagging front seating
- Damage to rear light lens
Verdict on the 2017 Coachman Laser 675
No tourer is problem-free, but not much seems to go wrong with these. The usual checks are still important, however.
Seating in this example was good. The layout works well and the washroom is superb.
The Laser, like all Coachman models, has great LED lighting. Good build is another feature, as is the generous storage. Add in the superb general condition and this one is a real bargain.
