THE MOST EXCITING sector of the caravan market at present is undoubtedly the entry-level.

For 2012, a refreshed Elddis Xplore, an all-new Sprite, Adria’s Altea and the quirky Sprite Lite mean there is plenty of competition. The most exciting news in caravans this Spring however, is undoubtedly the Venus range.

The range was announced in December and the first details emerged in January. Designed and built by the same team that builds Lunar Caravans, that should make it no surprise that the Venus range is light. Very light. The range starts at a fraction over 900kg and £10500 and even the large fixed bed models are less than 1200kg and £12495. The Premium pack adds £400 but that is good value for alloy wheels, CD/Radio, hitch stabiliser and a few other bits.

The Venus range launches at the Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show which runs from 14-19th September at London’s ExCeL centre.
