Verdict
We think that the new, pared-down Sprite range is exciting.
Stripping it back to basics, but still offering a selection of more ‘luxury’ items as dealer fit options, really allows families and couples on a tighter budget to access a smart caravan from a traditional British manufacturer for less. Its low, 1263kg MTPLM means they won’t need a large tow car, either.
Pros
- Low MTPLM
- Bright & airy lounge
- Very competitive price
Cons
- Kitchen work surface isn’t huge
- Fridge might be a little small for four
If you’ve ever thought to yourself that modern caravan ranges are overly complicated, you’re in for some good news: numerous manufacturers have streamlined their offerings for the coming season, including Swift.
It has deleted models across the board, but perhaps most notably in the popular Sprite line-up: gone are the Compact, Exclusive and Grande sub-ranges, to leave just four Sprite single-axle models, but anyone who is after the best four-berth caravan will be pleased to hear each of the models comes with four berths.
What’s more, this year’s range is a fair bit cheaper than last year, thanks to its back-to-basics specification level, so it could be tempting for those after the best budget caravans.
I took a close look at the rear-corner-washroom, rear-corner dinette Swift Sprite Alpine 4 DB model at the brand’s recent 2026 model launch.
Pitch and set-up
The first thing you’ll notice before you step inside are the refreshed exterior graphics: they look simpler than last year, but I thought they were classy, and they sit upon grey sidewalls.
For last season, this particular caravan layout wasn’t available, although there was a similar floorplan in the Sprite Grande range, which is an 8ft wide caravan. All of this year’s Sprite models measure in at 7’4” in width, with the Alpine 4 DB having a length of 6.45m, meaning it should be considerably easier to manoeuvre.

Al-Ko’s ATC and an AKS stabiliser aren’t fitted as standard, although both are available as a dealer-fit option (the latter as part of the Lux pack).
Other dealer-fit options for 2026 Swift models include an alarm system, a Thule Elite G2 two-cycle rack, a roof-mounted caravan solar panel and more.
Lounge in the Sprite Alpine 4 DB
The clean, modern lines of the new exterior graphics are continued on the inside, thanks to the new Cherub soft-furnishing scheme: I think it looks attractive, practical and hard-wearing.
A panoramic sunroof sits over the lounge to help flood the area with light, while I found the facing-sofa cushions comfortable, thanks to their new sprung seat bases and tri-foam backrests.

Elsewhere in the spacious lounge, you’ll find Sangallo Elm woodgrain furniture and Grey French Oak-effect scratch-resistant vinyl on the floor – there are no carpets as standard, but you can get them as part of the Lux pack.
There’s no front cabinet here, but there is a flip-up table in the centre that’s perfect for drinks or books. A wide front shelf – which has USB A and new USB C ports – also acts as additional storage space for smaller items when you’re pitched up.
Kitchen in the Swift Sprite Alpine 4 DB
The kitchen is situated in the middle of the tourer; there’s not a huge amount of workspace, but the glass cover on top of the three-burner hob creates additional room. There’s no microwave fitted, but a flatbed version is an option as part of the Lux pack or you could consider browsing our best caravan microwave guide.

A Thetford oven/grill is located below the hob. A circular stainless-steel sink sits to the left-hand side of the work surface – it’s a good size, and has a smart swan-neck chrome tap. Beneath the sink is a 98-litre Dometic 10-series fridge with freezer compartment.
Washroom in the Swift Sprite Alpine 4 DB
Sprite receives a new ‘White Stipple’ marble effect shower wallboard for the 2026 season, which complements the other, darker-wood-style finishes here well.

There’s a separate shower cubicle with a bi-fold door and a travel lock, as well as corner washbasin that is a decent size; the latter has a smart chrome mixer tap.
The shower itself features an Ecocamel Jetstorm showerhead with an on/off button; there’s also a rooflight over the washroom.
Beds in the Sprite Alpine 4 DB
The front double is made up from the pair of sofas; the new construction of these should make sleeping even more comfortable.

The bunks – which can be curtained off – are simple to construct from the dinette at the rear nearside corner; with the washroom alongside, this area makes the perfect space for children, who won’t be disturbed by adults relaxing up front.
Storage in the Swift Sprite Alpine 4 DB
The new Swift Sprite Alpine 4 DB offers a good amount of storage solutions for a family, which will be helpful when loading your caravan. There’s a great-sized, full-height, double-doored wardrobe in the centre of the tourer, while positive-catch lockers with chrome handles are fitted both above the lounge and the rear dinette.
There’s an additional storage cupboard alongside the latter. There’s not a huge amount of storage in the washroom, but it should be sufficient for a small family. Kitchen storage is good, but bear in mind you’ll lose one of the lockers if you decide to opt for the flatbed microwave.
Alternatives to consider
The 2025 Bailey Discovery D4-4L is a versatile family tourer with four berths and flexible sleeping arrangements.
Or perhaps you’re looking for a family tourer with a couple of extra berths? If that sounds like you, the Elddis Whirlwind 868 could be worth considering, as the six-berth comes with a spacious kitchen and generous storage.
