A whole host of updates took place at Hillcroft Park for the 2017 season, so it’s fantastic to see that they’ve been warmly received by visitors – it’s our new category winner for 2018.
This is a hugely attractive park for those with a tourer or tent; additionally, there are comfortable lodges and camping pods for hire.
The amenities at the site really are top-notch, from the newly refurbished washrooms to the spotlessly clean washing-up and laundry areas.
This is a really family-friendly site, too, with plenty for little ones to do, including a play area and playing fields.
The small park shop can also provide you with any basics you forgot to pack.
Hillcroft Park is just six miles from junction 40 of the M6, so it’s easy to access, however you arrive.
It’s also a very short distance from some of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District: it’s in the village of Pooley Bridge, which overlooks Ullswater.
“The site is beautiful and well kept, and is located just a few minutes away from the Lake District. It is easy to get to and well situated. Overall we had a great experience and wholeheartedly recommend it.”
“The staff are very friendly, the accommodation is top quality, warm and clean, and I saw my first ever red squirrel. The site was well set out and although it is a large complex it was a pleasure to stay there.”
“I had my first camping experience here. I wasn’t too sure at first but my partner booked us into a pod. I loved it and have returned yearly with friends and family and have recommended it to others.”
